Could the same thing happen to you?

It's taken time in prison for Dr. Adam Frasch to come by the hard-won information that what happened to him could happen to many of the people he knew before his false incarceration.

It starts with trusting homeowners allowing an unskilled labourer to do odd jobs for them. The 'handyman' will charge far less than a bonded or more competent worker but when he's gained the trust of the homeowners he starts stealing items that won't be noticed for awhile. And if you tell him you don't need him on a certain day and he knows the house is empty, he can go back for more smaller items or just go in for a large haul and then stay out of the picture for awhile.

Samira Frasch noticed items missing from her closet and the last full day of her life was spent trying to find a designer purse that was made especially for her, her most treasured possession.

Long before that, Dr. Frasch had noticed items missing from his garage and would have fired the handyman except that his wife, Samira, was kind enough to intercede for him. In the last 24 hours of her life she realized she had been too trusting and that the most likely explanation for her missing items was the man who did odd jobs outside and around the house. And when he showed up at her house on February 22, 2014, her quick and violent death suggests that in the final minutes of her life, distressed by the loss of something that mattered so much to her, she most likely confronted him about her missing purse and other items.
